"[Col's] paper art is powerful.Texture, color,
form it has everything." - Francene Levinson
“Col Mitchell is an awesome artist no matter what the medium. She has developed her own textured paper art style over the past few years and the finished product is original and unique! Col is able to replicate the very intrinsic nature of an object and then add her own individual style and expression . Her technique, using a variety of papers, washes and paints along with metallics and inks, creates an image which is energized and flowing with effervescence. Col not only creates art – she lives and breathes art!! She has been an invaluable asset as President of the Hutnsville Art Society in helping to give HAS a respected position in the community and establishing Huntsville's Art Space.” - E. F.
“Col is a high energy, very creative, friendly, organized, "get things done" kind of person. She is prolific with her artwork producing beautiful, original and unique work and I would highly recommend her.” -R. D.
“Col Mitchell has been a valued participant in my studio's annual Art Show in southern Muskoka for the past few years. Her work has been highly praised by the hundreds of people who attend the show: they find it highly unusual and creative. Her engaging personality and enthusiasm add a great element to the show: she really knows how to explain and demonstrate her work to the public. Col is an artist of the highest calibre, and her innovative approach to her work and to the artistic community ensures that she will always explore new approaches, and continue to offer wonderful artwork borne of her high talent and artistic curiosity.”
