The MAC Spring Members' Show opens with a reception and awards presentation on Friday, March 26. 7-10 pm.
The show continues on Saturday, March 27, 10am to 5pm and again on Sunday, March 28, 11am until 4pm. The show takes place at the Bracebridge Sportsplex located at 110 Clearbrook Trail.
JUDGES:
Arounna Khounnoraj received her art education from the Ontario College of Art, Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and an MFA from the University of Waterloo. She has received numerous awards from the Ontario Arts Council, Toronto Arts Council and the Ontario Crafts Council. She has exhibited her work in solo and group shows across North America and Europe. Her work is in private and public collections. She currently lives in Toronto and runs her design business, bookhou, with her husband John.
Brian Smith was accepted into the Ontario College of Art with advanced standings and full scholarship. Brian specializes in classical drawing and painting from the figure. His works range through a variety of media and styles, and are represented in collections across Canada and the US. In 2005, he was awarded the title of “Honourary Drawing Master” by the Drawing Society of Canada. Brian was named “Artist of the Month” for November 2008 by American Artist magazine and he was also a featured artist on the television program Star Portraits which aired in the Fall of 2009 on Bravo!. Brian has taught classes and workshops on life drawing and portraiture for over 20 years and has been on the faculty of the Ontario College of Art and Design, The Koffler Centre for the Arts, Haliburton School of The Arts, Curry’s Art School, Visual Arts Mississauga and Neilson Park Creative Centre as well as conducting Master Classes in his own studio.
